A NORTH Yorkshire Brewery is helping people to raise a toast to NHS heroes with the launch of a new Nightingale beer.
Rudgate Brewery, near York, will donate 20p from every sale of the new bottled golden ale to the NHS Charities Together.
Craig Lee, managing director, said: “I have numerous family and friends who work for the NHS and can see the massive pressure they are under.
"I wanted to do something to help. Brewing beer is what I do so why not produce a fantastic new beer to support our fantastic NHS."
Nightingale is available from mid-May from Booths, selected Cooperative stores and from the brewery.
Craig, whose wife previously worked on the children’s ward at Leeds General Infirmary, hopes to raise a sizeable sum for the NHS.
The closure of pubs and restaurants has had a dramatic impact on their business, with Rudgate Brewery seeing a drop in sales over recent weeks.
The brewery has significantly increased its online and take-home sales, which has allowed the company to keep trading.
